Camper Van Hire
Welcome to Kerb to Coast, a small family run campervan hire company based in Bristol. On this page you will find the information and answers you need prior to booking your campervan. Our Commitment to You
At Kerb to Coast Ltd, we want you to experience the exciting world of campervans and we therefore hope to have thought of everything you need for your holiday. We know that holidays are important so we therefore ensure the vehicle is roadworthy, in good working order and fully cleaned and inspected before your period of hire commences.  

You can bring whatever you like (along as it’s within our T&Cs and legal!) surfboards, bikes and your well behaved Dog is also welcome, just remember to book in advance. Here is a full list of items we carefully pack into your van:
  • Plates, side plates, bowls, mugs, knives, forks and spoons
  • Kettle, Saucepans, frying pan and various cooking utensils
  • Tea bags, herbal teabags, fresh ground coffee, sugar
  • Outdoor table and camping chairs
  • Picnic rug, travel washing line and pegs
  • Washing up liquid, sponge, tea towels and bin bags
  • Bedding supplied at £10 per set
Vehicle Pick Up: between 2.00pm and 4.00pm on the hire start date.

Please allow one hour for a full handover, vehicle familiarisation and demonstration of equipment, as well as the joint completion of the vehicle and equipment inventory. Before we will release the vehicle to you we will need to have received cleared payment in full and security deposit.  

Vehicle Drop Off: between 10.00am and 12.00pm on the hire end date. 

On return of the vehicle we will undertake a joint review of the vehicle and equipment inventory to ensure the vehicle and all its equipment has been returned to us in its pre-hire condition.

If you would like to have an earlier pick up or a late drop off outside the above times, this will incur an extra charge of £50 (either way). We reserve the right to withdraw this facility if the Campervan is booked out. If you cannot guarantee that you will be able to keep to these timings or would like to make an early start or to return later, we suggest you book extra days hire so you are not disappointed!


Late return fee
If you think you will be late returning the vehicle, please contact us immediately so we can extend your insurance. If the vehicle is returned after 12.00pm, we reserve the right to charge you a £50 late fee as this impacts subsequent hires and insurances. Should the late return of the vehicle make us liable for additional costs, we reserve the right to pass these costs on to you. The late return fee and any additional costs incurred will be deducted from the security deposit.

Booking
Once we have finalised your booking details and we are in receipt of your booking deposit (£150 for Fri-Mon and £250 for Mon -Fri hire) we will email your booking confirmation and an invoice for the remaining balance (total hire cost less booking deposit), which will be due 28 days prior to the hire start date. Last minute bookings made with 28 days or less before the hire start date will need to be paid in full at the time of booking.

Security deposit
We require a security deposit of £750, which is payable by credit/debit card or cash on collection of the vehicle. However, we reserve the right to charge a higher security deposit of £1,000 if the vehicle is being taken to a music festival and you must inform us of this at your point of booking. Your deposit will be retained for 7 days after the hire end date and will be refunded in full provided the vehicle and its equipment has been returned to us in its pre-hire condition and subject to inspection by us. 

The security deposit covers the possibility of any damage to the vehicle, its fixtures and fittings and any equipment therein, or additional cleaning costs. It also allows for speeding tickets, parking fines, congestion charges and any other costs to reach Kerb to Coast Ltd.

If there is any damage or other charges incurred we will deduct this from the security deposit before refunding you the remaining balance. In the event the security deposit is insufficient to cover the cost of any damage or charges incurred, we will provide you with an itemised invoice detailing the charges. Your signature on this Hire Agreement Form confirms you agree to pay all charges upon presentation of an invoice. In the event of a claim we reserve the right to retain the security deposit to cover the cost of the excess or any other charges incurred. We will refund the deposit if and when our Insurers establish the incident was non-fault and when they have recovered the costs from the third party.

Insurance
Our insurance policy provides fully comprehensive insurance for the Hirer. We allow a maximum of two insured drivers per vehicle hire. The primary driver is included in the vehicle hire cost and an additional driver will be charged at £25 per day depending on insurance criteria of additional driver. You agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of the insurance, which you have seen and read or have had the opportunity to see and read.

Upon hiring we require the following documents for anyone intending to drive the vehicle:
a) Valid UK / EU driving license – Photo card and counterpart
b) Utility bill or bank statement (two forms) no more than 60 days old on hire start date, which confirms you reside at the same address as stated on your driving license
c) Cash or credit card for the security deposit. At time of pick up we will put an authorisation of £750 on your card and cancel it upon safe return of the van, its contents and a full tank of fuel.

These documents are copied and retained by us in accordance with our privacy policy, which ensures we securely store your personal information. Our Insurer reserves the right to request sight of this completed Hire Agreement Form should they require it but we do not share your personal details with any other third party.

To meet the eligibility requirements to hire our vehicles all drivers must:
a) Be over 21 years of age and under 75 years of age
b) Currently hold a valid UK or EU license and have done so for more than two years
c) Have no more than 6 penalty points on their license

Our vehicles cannot be hired out or driven by anyone who has had their insurance declined and/or renewal refused and/or special insurance terms imposed as a result of claims experience and/or have had their insurance or cover cancelled by any Motor Insurer. Our vehicles cannot be hired out or driven by anyone who, whilst driving, has been involved in more than one accident during the past three years. Furthermore, our vehicles cannot be hired out to persons engaged wholly or partly in professional entertainment or professional sports persons, or jockeys and persons connected with racing, the gaming industry or press of any sort.

We reserve the right to refuse your collection of the vehicle if you are unable to provide the necessary documentation, if you do not meet our eligibility requirements or, in our reasonable opinion we believe you are not fit to drive the vehicle. In such circumstances, the contract will terminate with immediate effect and you will lose the total hire cost. We will not be held liable for any additional costs you incur as a result of us refusing your collection of the vehicle if our refusal is as a result of your own actions or omissions.

Breakdown cover
Kerb to Coast vehicles are maintained to a high standard, but like any vehicle we cannot 100% guarantee that they will not breakdown. In the unlikely event you breakdown, all of our vehicles have breakdown cover, who will attempt to repair the vehicle at the side of the road. If it cannot be repaired, we will return you, your passengers (included in the hire) and the vehicle back to our premises and provided with a different van, subject to availability. If no other vans are available, we will refund you for the remaining number of days of your hire.

Payment
Payment must be made by debit /credit card or via online banking. If cash payment is requested, a holding fee is needed via credit/debit card from the hirer.

We can also take online payment via Paypal.

Cancellation charges
If you have to cancel your booking you will be subject to the following cancellations charges:
a) 121 + days until hire start date – full refund of booking deposit
b) 120 – 29 days until hire start date – loss of booking deposit only
c) 28 days or less – loss of total hire cost

If you have to cancel your booking we will make every effort to re-hire the vehicle. If we successfully re-hire the vehicle for the same period we will refund any monies paid by you.
Vehicle availability

If, due to circumstances beyond our control, the vehicle is not available, Kerb to Coast Ltd reserves the right to offer a suitable alternative vehicle. If this is not acceptable, or another vehicle is not available, the liability of Kerb to Coast Ltd will be limited to a refund of monies paid, and the Hirer shall have no further claims against Kerb to Coast Ltd.

Your Vehicle
During the period of hire your car will be stored on our secure driveway. Our insurance provides cover for us to move and park your vehicle on our premises.

Fuel
The vehicle will have a full tank of fuel on collection and we ask that the vehicle is returned with a full tank of fuel. You will need to bring the van back with a full tank of diesel, if the tank is not full we will fill it on your behalf and you will be charged £3.00 per litre. These charges will be deducted from your security deposit.

Sat Nav
A Sat Nav can be provided at an additional cost of £10 per period of hire, payable on collection of the vehicle on the hire start date. If this item is lost or damaged we reserve the right to deduct any costs incurred from your security deposit.

Dogs
We welcome well-behaved dogs in all our vehicles. For the comfort of humans and animals alike, we allow one medium sized dog or two small dogs per vehicle. Dogs must not be left on their own in the vehicle at any time. You are responsible for the safety and well-being of your dog in transit and we cannot be held liable for injury or death.

Smoking
Smoking is prohibited in all of our vehicles. You will be liable for any damage or smoke contamination caused to the van or its contents from smoking. We reserve the right to deduct any costs incurred from your security deposit.

Travel Insurance
We recommend you take out your own travel insurance to cover cancellation costs, personal luggage, money loss, personal accident and medical expenses etc.
